Particulars
We prefer everyone try to make arrangements to get together on the 17th and 18th of August. Especially for those wanting to meet all family members. There will be a week set aside to collect and exchange family history. We promise it will be worth the trip as there is a lot of history already collected right on the homestead at Murphin Ridge Inn. This will be John Carskadon, Sr's Family history.

Beverly Ball, our event coordinator, has reserved ten (10) rooms and two (2) cabins at the Murphin Ridge Inn for the use of our attendees. If you desire the use of one of these rooms please contact the Inn and have the room placed in your name by July 1st. After July 1, 2002, these rooms will be released back to the Inn. Anyone desiring accomodations after that point will have to fend for themselves so act promptly. For further information on reservations & room rates at The Murphin Ridge Inn check here.

A family gathering and dinner is planned for 5:00 PM, Saturday, August 17th at the Murphin Ridge Inn Dining House. Those wishing to attend the dinner should make their reservations early. The Murphin Ridge staff has requested that all reservations for the dinner be made by June 1st so please hurry, as we would like to have everyone attend. Please call The Murphin Ridge Inn Dinning House at 1-877-687-7446 to make your reservations.

We have prepared some maps and a brief history to make you a little more familiar with the surroundings.

There is a cemetery close by with lots of history plus a library named after John Carskadon's wife Ann. The Carskadons lived at the Murphin Ridge Inn between 1855 and 1897.

Please bring any family history you have collected. Pictures to introduce your family along with a brief history (most recent). Bring cameras and plenty of writing material or your laptop computer. Maybe even a tape recorder or video camera. We have found there is so much to learn and to bring up to date for our children and their children.

Things to bring

  • Pictures of both past and present family members.
  • All family history accumulated to contribute to all.
  • Types of business or professions you are in.
  • Personnel information, business cards, etc. to exchange with others.
  • For those who are expecting; dates and where.
  • For those in the immediate family who have passed away, the date and the cause
of death (including as much medical history as possible.)
